OU’s Dalton Wood leaves team in middle of the night

While the rest of the Oklahoma Sooners’ recruiting class is on campus, one player’s status remains up in the air. According to Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman, three-star recruit Dalton Wood arrived in Norman on Wednesday, but left in the middle of the night to return home. As of yesterday afternoon, he still has not returned.

There has been zero information as to why Wood left, and in the middle of the night at that, but hopefully everything is OK. The transition from high school to college is a big one, and it’s scary for some.

Heck, I remember a couple of hours after my parents dropped me off at college and reality set in, I may or may not have panicked for a little bit. But a quick phone call home alleviated any anxieties I had.

Obviously, Wood’s reasons are quite a bit deeper than just simple college fears. His reasons are his own, and hopefully everything is OK on his end.

Campus Sports will update this story as more information on Wood’s departure becomes available.
