The 2015 NBA Draft is officially underway.
With the first pick in this year’s draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves went in a direction that many expected by selecting Kentucky Wildcats big man Karl-Anthony Towns. It was also a historical moment for the Kentucky program.
Assuming Karl-Anthony Towns does indeed go No. 1…
Kentucky will be the 1st school in common draft era (since 1966) with 3 No. 1 picks.

Towns will immediately improve the Timberwolves’ front court with a seven-footer in the post.
Many believe Towns has the talent to become a franchise big man and the Timberwolves are hoping that he will be able to live up to his high potential moving forward. Towns will also join last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Andrew Wiggins, who the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted last season before trading him in a deal for Kevin Love.
During his one and only season at Kentucky, Towns averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.3 blocks per game.
