On Saturday night, Irish superstar Conor McGregor is set to fight for the UFC interim featherweight championship in the main event of UFC 189. McGregor will be taking on Chad Mendes live on pay-per-view at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
However, McGregor isn’t the only athlete from his gym who is making waves this weekend.
During the 2015 IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas this weekend, McGregor’s SBG Ireland teammate Sinead Cavanaugh was able to deliver a devastating knockout in just 38 seconds. After properly finding her range, Cavanaugh cracks her opponent with a brutal left hook that sends her crumbling to the mat unconscious.
It is as impressive of a knockout as you will ever see in women’s mixed martial arts.
It would appear that training with the likes of McGregor, Gunnar Nelson, Cathal Pendred and Paddy Holohan are helping Cavanaugh significantly.
