Leonard Fournette: Anybody with a phone is the media

LSU running back Leonard Fournette didn’t just have one of the best quotes of the week, he might have the solution for keeping your nose clean during your tenure as a collegiate athlete.

CollegeSpun reported on Thursday about comments that Fournette made during SEC Media Days about how he conducts himself off the gridiron.

No, he isn’t bad-mouthing LSU beat guy Dellenger to his face for being a member of the media. This is a nice way of stating that he keeps a low profile since we live in a day and age when anything you do or say can and will end up on social media.

It’s something that all college athletes should be mindful of, really. Sure they can still go out and enjoy themselves. But remaining aware that your actions–even the most negative things that you don’t think anyone else saw–can end up on the front page of a newspaper thanks to camera phones and social media, is definitely a warning all should hied.

Now, if only Fournette had kept that in mind and pressed his jacket before the Media Days proceedings…
