Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Connor Senger will leave the university and head to Division III Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Travis Wilson of wissports.net reported Senger’s decision on Twitter.
Connor Senger (Pius XI), who was walk on WR at Wisconsin, will transfer this year to UW-Oshkosh. Played QB in high school.

A former quarterback, the 5-foot-10, 183 pound Senger spent the past two years low on the depth chart backing up Joel Stave, Tanner McEvoy and others. He switched to wide receiver this year, but was named Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year each of the past two seasons.
To see him not transfer to an FCS program may seem a bit odd, but it really isn’t given recent events. Yes, UW-Oshkosh is a Division III school, but keep in mind that a school in that classification produced an NFL Draft selection this season. That school was Hobart College in upstate New York, and offensive lineman Ali Marpet was a second-round pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.
It was an outside-the-box pick, and proof that players don’t necessarily need to play at elite Division I programs to gain national attention. In transferring to UW-Oshkosh, perhaps Senger hopes to accomplish the same thing.
Wisconsin opens the season against Alabama on September 5, in a game set to be played at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium.
