Art Briles throws shade at College Football Playoff Committee

Art Briles wants some damn respect and he wants it now.

During Big 12 Media Days, the Baylor Bears head coah was obviously still stinging from being left out of the College Football Playoff a season ago. When he then appeared on ESPN, it was clear that Briles is still unhappy about a perceived lack of respect to his team.

With programs like Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State who have more of a history getting the four spots in the playoffs, Briles threw some shade at the “old dogs” on the committee who are picking the “brand names” because they don’t want to go too far from home.

Briles has every right to be upset with the selection committee after his team had such a great season, but with Ohio State being the last team in and going on to win the national championship, it looks like the committee did something right.

If Baylor is snubbed again, perhaps the cries for a six-team playoff will get louder.

For now, however, Briles will need to keep his focus on the upcoming season where the Bears will hopefully find themselves no longer on the outside looking in.
