Class of 2016 four-star quarterback and Oklahoma State Cowboys commit Nick Starkel may not have played a single down for the school yet, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting involved in the recent Twitter war between the respective fan bases of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
On his personal Twitter page, Starkel posted the following picture.
The in-state rivalry often gets intense, as both the Cowboys and Sooners play in the Big 12, and Oklahoma State has some bragging rights heading into this season. In 2014, the then-unranked Cowboys beat No. 20 Oklahoma in overtime thanks to a game-tying touchdown off a punt return late in the fourth quarter.
Starkel, of course, did not play in that game and still has a year left at Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas, near Fort Worth, but it’s nice to see that he’s ready to jump head first into the rivalry before even suiting up in Stillwater.
