ESPN 5-star recruit and now Alabama true freshman Blake Barnett is looking to turn some heads in Tuscaloosa.
This 6’5’’ 200lb quarterback from Corona, California brings to the Crismon Tide a sneaky amount of strength at the position, especially coming out of high school. Check him out throwing a defender to the ground with a nasty stiff-arm against Hart High School.
If you are still not convinced of his strength, watch Barnett throw a 70-yard bomb through the uprights at a training session:

Still, Alabama is loaded at the quarterback position and it will be a tall task for Barnett to see any playing time this coming season. The true freshman must compete with redshirt senior Jake Coker (who played under EJ Manuel at FSU) and redshirt freshman David Cornwell for the job.
It will be fun to watch them compete under Saban for that starting role; we will see who earns the start September 5 when Alabama opens its season against Wisconsin.
