The LSU Tigers are happy to welcome freshman forward Ben Simmons onto the roster this coming season, and he has been showing off some of their reasons. One of them is the sheer athleticism that he brings to the court, and he showed that in a big way in an Instagram post that the Tigers put up on Sunday afternoon.
He posted a video of himself throwing down a nasty 360 dunk, and it should excite the LSU fan base even more about his potential.
That video shows the athleticism that was previously mentioned, and also shows how long he is as well. LSU hasn’t been known for their basketball program, but Simmons could help turn that around.
Simmons ended up averaging 28.0 points, 11.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.5 blocks per game during the 2014-15 season at Montverde Academy in Florida. This is exactly the type of excitement that the Tigers have been looking to bring into their program, and Simmons could be a big start of the turnaround for them.
He is a five-star prospect that is going to be one of the best young players in the nation this coming season.
Expect to see him help turn the Tigers’ program back around, although there is a chance that he will be a one-and-done player. If he isn’t, then he could make LSU a very intriguing place for future prospects in the next year or two as well depending on how long he chooses to stay in school.
