Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest stars the Ultimate Fighting Championship has ever had and her popularity could be taken to new heights with her latest project.
On Monday, Variety broke the news that Rousey is going to be starring in a film based off of her New York Times best-selling autobiography “My Fight/Your Fight.” Mary Parent will produce the film alongside Rousey, with Mark Bomback serving as the executive producer.
“It’s a real honor to be a part of bringing Ronda’s incredible story to the big screen,” Parent said.
There is no timetable for when the film will enter production.
Meanwhile, Rousey is expected to fight once more this year — against No. 1 contender Miesha Tate — before filming another project, “Mile 22,″ in January.
Rousey is one of the most fascinating athletes in the sports world, so it is going to be great to see how the adaptation of her book plays out on the silver screen. At the very least, there will be plenty of attention on her inspiring story.
