The Oklahoman transforms CFB into ‘Star Wars’

With the FCS premiering its season yesterday in an upset by the Montana Grizzlies against North Dakota State, this upcoming Thursday features a four-game slate (North Carolina/South Carolina, Georgia Tech/Alcorn State, TCU/Minnesota, UTSA/Arizona) to kickoff the FBS season. And fans are not alone in celebrating the hiatus of college football.

The Oklahoman took to creative measures in impairing a visual aid to help ring in college football’s new year by re-mastering teams in a Star Wars edition layout.

Sunday’s release of the Oklahoma-based publication brought up a new hope for Oklahoma State as Mason Rudolph overcomes his freshman slump (853 yards, 6 TD, 4 INT) to steer the Cowboys into newer light.

Oklahoma’s O.C. Lincoln Riley, also known as the Jedi to The Oklahoman, will peer into this season, being the main communication line with former Oklahoma State field general, Baker Mayfield.

The evil fighting force in the Big 12 will be in the hands of Storm Troopers, Gary Patterson and his assistant, Sonny Cumbie.

And disguising the programs of Alabama and Ohio State as ’empires,’ both look to capitalize on the preseason AP rankings, while manufacturing two of the top recruiting classes for 2016.
