As a major network, one would think that ESPN knows to use spellcheck before putting anything on the air or in print.
One would be wrong.
Earlier today, the network was talking about the Ohio State starting quarterback’s battle between Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett. Just one problem. Barrett was referred to as “JD Barrett.”
Sure enough, Jones jumped right on Twitter and posted the mistake.

Really? Barrett is a household name. I understand that that “JD” and “J.T.” sound very much the same, but Barrett should be enough of a big name at ESPN headquarters and in ESPN circles that this mistake should NOT have happened.
Hopefully, this is the first and last time such a flub is made.
