Fox Sports Clay Travis can be a controversial person at times. Based on what he has said about certain college football fan bases on his blog Outkick the Coverage, he can easily be called an equal opportunity offender.
But one Alabama fan clearly had enough of Travis’ antics, so much that they actually CALLED THE FCC on him.
Travis actually tweeted out a screenshot of the complaint, which alleges that he “uses his public forum to engage in libelous and slanderous statements.”
I’m sorry, but this fan needs to find a better way to spend their time even if Travis is guilty of saying less than flattering things about the Tide’s fans. If people got offended at every little thing that was said on sports talk shows or in any form of sports media, such a thing wouldn’t be able to exist. Moreover, if it did, it would be mind-numbingly boring because of how hard every writer would be trying to not offend any fan bases.
The long and short of it is that the FCC probably only registered this complaint because protocol required them to do so, or maybe just for publicity. It’s really anybody’s guess.
But the point is this. If this fan hates what Travis has to say so much, the solution is simple: read another blog!
Alabama takes on Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa tomorrow.
