Stanford running back and renaissance man extraordinaire Christian McCaffrey had an excellent game today at the Rose Bowl and set a record with over 346 all-purpose yards.
McCaffrey broke the record that was previously held by Wisconsin’s Jared Abbrederis, who had 346 all-purpose yards against Oregon in 2012. As of now, with just a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Stanford up 38-9, he has 361 all-purpose yards on the day.
Just how McCaffrey has posted that yardage is insane. He has 172 rush yards on just 18 carries, three catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, a 63-yard punt returned for a touchdown and a 28-yard kickoff return.
Needless to say, it’s a safe bet as to who’s going to be this year’s Rose Bowl MVP.
