Kirby Smart is already getting a jumpstart on his new school’s strength and conditioning program. It has been confirmed that Scott Sinclair, head of Marshall’s strength and conditioning program since 2013, has been hired by Georgia to take the same job in Athens.
Thus far there has been no official announcement, nor any official announcement on the status of possibly now former Georgia strength coordinator Mark Hocke’s job.
Smart seemed to be wanting to go in a new direction for his strength coach for sometime. Before hiring Sinclair, he tried hard to bring Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran to Georgia, until Cochran got a raise to stay in Tuscaloosa.
Sinclair was the associate director of strength and conditioning at UCF for nine years, where according to his Marshall bio he was “directly responsible for the speed and agility programs in addition to the program’s administrative duties.”
Marshall finished the year 10-3, beating UConn in the St. Petersburg Bowl.
