Former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims very nearly led his team to a chance to play for a national championship last season and though he will be cheering on the Tide on Monday night, he’ll still be rooting for Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson as well.
I'm letting everybody know I want Bama to win but I'm going to be cheering for my little brother Deshawn Watson #gaineSville @ShaunWatson4

This actually makes sense, since both Sims and Watson are from Gainesville, Georgia and both attended the same high school, albeit not together, but could Sims’ allegiance to his fellow Gainesville resident wind up sending some unfortunate game karma Alabama’s way? There’s only one way to find out.
Kickoff on Monday is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, so be sure to tune in and watch!
