Ole Miss discussing 2020 game with Baylor?

The Ole Miss Rebels break the mold of most SEC teams, what with having strong offense on top of solid defense, so a matchup with the Big 12’s Baylor Bears would certainly be interesting. As AD Ross Bjork told SEC Country, a game between both teams is actually being discussed for the 2020 season.

“We are speaking to Baylor about a game in 2020, but nothing is finalized,” Bjork said to SEC Country. “Can only confirm that we are talking, and we are hopeful we can get an agreement done very soon.”

Both schools played each other once before back in 1975, and Ole Miss won 20-10, but a matchup this time around would be more significant. Hugh Freeze’s fast-paced game matched up against Art Briles’ spread offense would be incredibly fun to watch, and would also do wonders for getting the Big 12 some more love in the College Football Playoff committee if Baylor managed to make it a game, win or lose.
