UFC flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez joined the Great MMA Debate podcast, addressing rumors that he had left Team Alpha Male. Instead of confirming the suspicions on many thinking he had left, Benavidez responded by saying he simply wanted to train with other people, but he still was committed to his team in Sacramento.
Benavidez has been spotted recently training in Colorado and New Mexico with Duane “Bang” Ludwig and Team Jackson/Winkeljohn, respectively.
“I’ve trained different places with different people my whole career. I’m going to continue to do so. It’s always been a journey,” Benavidez explained, via FOX Sports. “It’s not about leaving one place or joining another, it’s one constant journey of becoming the best person you can be.”
Benavidez has been preparing for an upcoming Zach Makovsky at UFC 196 on Feb. 6 in Las Vegas.
