Miami HS team hires first female head coach

A Miami high school has made history when it comes to coaching hires.

Miami Jackson has hired Lakatriona Brunson as its football team’s head coach, making her the first female head coach in the state of Florida’s history. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s Bernice from TruTV’s South Beach Tow.

In addition to her hiring, the school has also added Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke as an assistant coach.

Despite it looking like a simple PR stunt, both new hires have experience around the game. Campbell was a defensive coordinator at Miami Norland Senior High School prior to taking the position as assistant head coach.
