Clemson players are trolling Baker Mayfield on Instagram

Clemson defeated Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl semifinal en route to the national championship game against Alabama and stopped Sooners star quarterback Baker Mayfield in a 37-17 victory.

Of course, out of nowhere, a number of Clemson defensive players have been trolling Mayfield on Instagram over his overall weak performance in the game.

Granted, Mayfield did complete 26 of 41 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown, but also had two picks and was sacked multiple times. On the whole, Oklahoma got outclassed from start to finish despite leading 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.

But while Mayfield may be getting trolled now, he is in a position to receive the last laugh. While Clemson lost the national championship game and has some key defensive players headed to the NFL Draft, namely top pass-rusher Shaq Lawson, Oklahoma has plenty of key players returning to help Mayfield.

That said, don’t be shocked if Oklahoma finds itself in prime contention for a national championship next year while Clemson likely adjusts to losing key members of its defense.
