Alabama running back Kenyan Drake isn’t one of the most exciting names in this year’s draft class, mostly due to injuries suffered during his time in Tuscaloosa, but his strong performance in the national championship game despite breaking his arm just a few weeks prior has him training for the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine, specifically in the 40-yard dash.
Drake posted a montage of his training to Instagram, and it will get you excited.
Drake isn’t a first-round talent, nor is he (at least not now) the type who will be a starting running back in the NFL, but he does have speed and moves quickly enough that he could definitely wind up being a force on special teams, a la a Leon Washington or Brad Smith type. A lot depends on his performance at the combine, but Drake is definitely committed to excellence and that is only going to help him.
