Analyst expects Derrick Henry to ace interviews

Former Alabama running back and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry could wind up being one of the more polarizing names in this year’s draft class, with some going so far as to say he’ll be an absolute star to others not quite feeling the same way.

NFL.com draft analyst Gil Brandt didn’t quite commit to one position or the other, but did tweet the opinion that Henry would wind up acing his interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.

Some may be quick to laugh that opinion off as simply that, the opinion of one analyst, but don’t count Brandt’s thoughts out just yet. Keep in mind that he was the Dallas Cowboys’ VP of Player Personnel for almost 30 years, so he’s been through his fair share of NFL Drafts and probably has an eye for things like this.

On top of that, besides being a fine football player, Henry is a well-spoken individual who has never considered himself above the team. That is the kind of attitude that coaches and executives alike dream of in a college prospect, so definitely look for Henry’s name to be among those whispered in a positive manner once the combine concludes.
