LSU senior guard Keith Hornsby is dealing with a hernia that could force him out for the rest of the season, but the Tigers’ best perimeter scorer isn’t ready for that to be the case just yet. Hornsby posted an update on his injury to his Facebook page, which was tweeted out by Cody Worsham of Tiger Rag.
The word “unpredictable” and term “week-to-week” are probably the last things that all LSU fans want to hear right now, especially with the team right on the bubble at 16-11 (9-5 SEC), though just one game out of first place in the SEC. Hornsby is averaging 13.1 points per game and shooting 49 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from three-point land, and his loss is a big one because freshman sensation Ben Simmons simply can’t carry LSU by himself.
That said, though fans would love for Hornsby to battle through the pain and play through his injury, it’s hard to imagine coach Johnny Jones allowing that to happen unless absolutely necessary.
