Auburn makes football staff changes

It’s nothing too big, but the Auburn Tigers have made some changes to the coaching staff ahead of the start of spring practices.

The Tigers have added Devin Ducote as a defensive analyst to replace the outgoing Blake Gideon, who left to work with Will Muschamp at South Carolina. Ducote was a graduate assistant with the LSU Tigers before joining Auburn.

Also announced was that the team’s video coordinator, Brent Thomas, was no longer with Auburn after nearly nine years with the team. The departure of Thomas makes 10 members of Auburn’s coaching staff to leave this offseason.

With head coach Gus Malzahn likely on the hot seat entering the 2016 season, he’ll definitely have to make sure that whoever he adds to the staff will be able to make him look good as a head coach.

Otherwise, he could be the next one to leave Auburn albeit unwillingly.
