John Calipari boasts about Kentucky rookies’ NBA success

There’s no doubt that Kentucky coach John Calipari is hands-down the best recruiter in the college basketball world, as his Wildcats teams could probably come close to defeating the NBA’s worst team year after year if not beating them outright.

Thus, it wasn’t a surprise when Calipari took to Twitter last night after Phoenix Suns rookie guard and former Kentucky shooter Devin Booker scored 34 points in a loss to the Miami Heat, hitting the 30-point mark in a game for the second time this season. There’s only one other rookie this season who has done that, and Calipari was sure to let the masses know who it was: Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns.

There’s no doubt that Booker and Towns are enjoying nice starts to their NBA careers, with Towns being the reigning No. 1 overall pick the clear front-runner for Rookie of the Year.

Needless to say, with a top player like Anthony Davis having also gone to Kentucky before tearing it up in the NBA, Calipari has every right to brag about his players’ successes on the next level.
