Oklahoma star shooting guard Buddy Hield has been named the Big 12 Player of the Year for the second year in a row, per a post on the Big 12’s official Twitter.

It’s not at all a surprise that Hield won the award again, as his 2015-16 season was off-the-charts kinds of amazing. He was second in the nation with 25.1 points per game and shot 49.5 percent from the field and and eye-popping 47 percent from three-point range.
Oklahoma ended up going 24-6 (12-6 Big 12) this season, finishing three games behind Kansas in the Big 12 race. The Sooners also scored key wins over top programs like Villanova and Wisconsin and with Hield leading the offense, it’s going to be hard to count them out as a potential Final Four contender.
Next for Hield is the NBA Draft in June and though he’ll need to be more than just a shooter on the professional level, don’t be surprised if his skyrocketing stock puts him in the Top 10, if not better than that.
