Report: Johnny Manziel hires Drew Rosenhaus as agent

Recently released by the Cleveland Browns, Johnny Manziel will be changing teams this offseason.  He will also be changing agents, as Jason La Confora of CBS Sports reported Saturday.

According to La Confora, Manziel has signed with powerhouse agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Manziel was released by the Browns after the start of the league year, and it’s no secret that his reputation has taken a heavy hit. Therefore Rosenhaus will have to do one of the best, if not the best sales and damage control jobs of his career. However, this is the man who represented Terrell Owens at the height of his career and, his antics.

Still, there is only so much Rosenhaus can do to convince an NFL team. Most of that work will lie on Manziel’s shoulders, because if any team does entertain taking a chance on the troubled young quarterback, they are surely going to need some assurances on his end that he is serious about getting his life in order and focusing on football.

Manziel’s former agent, Erik Burkhardt, cut ties with him after last season, saying that Manziel needed to get his life in order.
