College football’s opening weekend will officially feature ESPN’s “College GameDay” at Lambeau Field as the LSU Tigers travel to face the Wisconsin Badgers in one of the weekend’s marquee match-ups.
This marks the first time “GameDay” has been to Lambeau Field and only the sixth time the show aired live from the state of Wisconsin; the last time in 2001.
“Lambeau Field is hailed as a football shrine and is as special of a venue as the game of football has to offer,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer. “It is an honor to be able to stage College GameDay from Lambeau as we kick off this opening weekend filled with top-caliber games.”
It will be a homecoming for analyst Desmond Howard, who won a Super Bowl during his time with the Green Bay Packers.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit previously mentioned “College GameDay” would likely take place at Lambeau Field, but the network officially confirmed the news in a press release on Wednesday.
If you would like to attend the live taping of the show, make sure to get there nice and early.
The weekly show airs from 9 a.m.-noon on ESPN and will be located in front of the Brown County Arena on Oneida Street.
Smile, college football fans, college football is just a couple of weeks away.
