Kendall Sheffield transfers to Blinn College

Earlier this week, it was reported that five-star cornerback Kendall Sheffield would be transferring out of Alabama before his career even begins. It looks like he doesn’t want to sit out the 2016 season, so he decided to head to the junior college level.

It was reported that Sheffield will be taking his talents to Blinn College in Texas to play the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He will be able to play immediately and must attend the school for two seasons before being able to head back to the FBS.

Once his stint at the junior college is over, he will have three years of eligibility remaining starting with the 2018 season.

If you recall, Blinn College became popular when former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton led the team to a national championship after he transferred there from Florida in 2009.

It should be fun to see what he will do for the Buccaneers as he looks to get his career off to a hot start. Sheffield was the top-ranked cornerback in the country when he signed with the Crimson Tide.
