The two top teams in the SEC face off this week in Tuscaloosa as the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide play host to the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies. With NFL talent on both sides of the ball for both teams, it’s no wonder why there will so many NFL scouts in attendance.
Representatives from the following teams will be in the stands:
Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans.
Every week, NFL teams will send scouts to various college football games around the country to do evaluations of players. Naturally, the bigger the game, the more scouts will be in attendance.
The next highest number of scouts at a game this week was on Thursday’s Miami versus Virginia Tech with nine.
The top prospect in this game is Myles Garret, defensive end for Texas A&M. Currently a junior at A&M, it is widely expected that he will declare for the NFL draft after this season and be a top pick.
One NFL, who remained unidentified, said, “Myles Garrett will always be the best player on the field. Doesn’t matter who they play.”
With this many scouts in the stands, all 22 players on the field will be looking to make an impact at all times.
