Jonathan Allen was a dominant force on the defensive side of the ball for the No. 1 Alabama defense last weekend and he has picked up a national honor for his efforts.
On Tuesday, the Football Writers Association of America announced Allen has been named the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 8 performance during the Crimson Tide’s 33-14 win over Texas A&M.
Allen recorded six tackles, a career-best four quarterback hurries and a remarkable sack.
Along with being named the FWAA/Broko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, Allen was also named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week and Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.
It was a successful outing for the Alabama defensive star.
The Crimson Tide have the week off before returning to action on Nov. 5 against the LSU Tigers.
