Reports have been swirling that SMU Mustangs head coach Chad Morris could be in line to become the next Baylor football coach.
While those reports are running rampant, Morris took the opportunity to address them while speaking to the media on Tuesday afternoon. According to Morris, he has had zero contact with Baylor about the head coaching vacancy.

“As far as Baylor, I haven’t been contacted by them,” Morris told reporters, via Bill Nichols of the Dallas Morning News.
“Every year this time, something comes up, somebody’s mentioning you for this job. You’re leaving either way. You’re either getting fired because you didn’t win enough games, or you’re leaving because you’ve won too many games … That’s just the way this business is this time of year.”
While Morris is taking the high road now, he will continue to be a name to watch in the Baylor search.
SMU caps off its 2016 regular season campaign on Saturday by playing host to Navy. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
