Alabama is overwhelming favorite vs. Washington in Chick-fil-A Bowl

When the College Football Playoff field was set, the sportsbooks in Las Vegas immediately opened with the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide an overwhelming favorite against No. 4 Washington.

Alabama sits as a 14.5-point favorite, but that didn’t stop anyone from putting down some cash on the Crimson Tide.

In fact, a majority of the early bets went towards Alabama; approximately $11,000 of it was on Alabama, according to CG Technology vice president Jason Simbal. shared the news, which also noted the wagers on Alabama had an average bet size of $1,800.

With Alabama being more than a two touchdown favorite, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is officially the largest betting line of any College Football Playoff matchup to date.

Ohio State, meanwhile, opened as a three-point favorite over Clemson in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.
