When the College Football Playoff field was set, the sportsbooks in Las Vegas immediately opened with the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide an overwhelming favorite against No. 4 Washington.
Alabama sits as a 14.5-point favorite, but that didn’t stop anyone from putting down some cash on the Crimson Tide.
In fact, a majority of the early bets went towards Alabama; approximately $11,000 of it was on Alabama, according to CG Technology vice president Jason Simbal.
ESPN.com shared the news, which also noted the wagers on Alabama had an average bet size of $1,800.
With Alabama being more than a two touchdown favorite, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is officially the largest betting line of any College Football Playoff matchup to date.
Ohio State, meanwhile, opened as a three-point favorite over Clemson in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.
