The Alabama football team is set to lose even more depth under center.
On Wednesday afternoon, quarterback David Cornwell took to Twitter to announce he would be transferring from the program. Cornwell becomes the third signal-caller to leave the Crimson Tide this season, joining Blake Barnett and Cooper Bateman.
That’s what happens when you have a true freshman like Jalen Hurts burst onto the scene.
Cornwell released a statement announcing his decision on social media.
Appreciate every moment at Alabama! This is my statement on transferring. pic.twitter.com/dSm5viUYUq

Cornwell, a former four-star recruit, never saw the field during his time in Tuscaloosa. There is currently no word on where he could ultimately land to resume his collegiate career.
