Blake Barnett and Billy Napier will be reunited.
According to reports, Napier, the Alabama Crimson Tide wide receivers coach, is set to join the Arizona State Sun Devils coaching staff as offensive coordinator.
Matt Zenitz of AL.com was first to report the news.
The hiring will come after the Sun Devils failed to land former Cal coach Sonny Dykes due to a “family issue.”
Napier’s hiring would reunite him with former five-star quarterback Blake Barnett, who transferred from the Crimson Tide late last year. Barnett was rated as the top pocket passer in his recruiting class.
Napier replaces former Sun Devils offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who left the staff to take the same position at Auburn.
