VIDEO: USC QB Sam Darnold Tosses Strike To Wakeboarder Trailing Speedboat

During last year’s NFL Scouting Combine, the name that surfaced the most was one that wasn’t even eligible to be drafted.

When scouts looked at the tape on Sam Darnold, their jaws dropped.

They raved about his ability to make every throw, his fearlessness, and poise beyond his years.

That was before he was throwing touchdown passes to wakeboarders while seated on the back of a boat. Of all of his highlights, this one might be the most fun.

Nice hands by the guy on the receiving end, freshman Sean Morrissey. If they can get him suited up and on the field — and trailing behind a boat on a wakeboard — the Trojans might have a legit threat on crossing routes.

Darnold enters the 2017 football season with lofty expectations and as the Heisman favorite. He’s expected to lead USC back to national prominence. It doesn’t seem to be weighing on him much during the hot summer months.
