VIDEO: Oklahoma Softball Pitcher Knocks Over Royals Catcher With Fastball

It can’t be easy being a catcher. You’re constantly facing fastballs coming directly at your face and baseball bats being swung inches away from your noggin. One member of the Kansas City Royals was reminded of that when warming up with Oklahoma softball standout Paige Parker.

Parker was warming up for her first pitch before a Kansas City Royals game to celebrate the Sooners’ win in the Women’s College World Series earlier this month when she showed Drew Butera of the Royals that she can throw just as hard as anyone.

When warming up, Parker launched a fastball at Butera and it literally brought him off of his feet.

Oklahoma shared a video of Butera seemingly underestimating Parker’s heat.

Safe to say the @Royals were impressed when @paigeparker008 warmed up last week before her first pitch.

Parker, who was a junior during the Sooners’ championship run, recorded 262 strikes and an ERA of 1.43 last season.

It’s safe to say the Royals were impressed with her arsenal.
