The UGA football team will take the field in South Bend on Saturday without its starting quarterback.
In the season opener against Appalachian State, Bulldogs quarterback Jacob Eason was forced out of the game after suffering a knee injury. After undergoing evaluation, Georgia announced Eason suffered a knee sprain.
As a result, head coach Kirby Smart announced on Monday that Eason will miss Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.
Starting in Eason’s place will be freshman Jake Fromm.

Fromm filled in for Eason in the season opener, throwing for 143 yards and a touchdown on 10-of-15 passing. He will face a much tougher task this weekend in his first collegiate start.
Kickoff between Georgia and Notre Dame is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
