LSU football fans are not too happy about the way the Tigers performed last weekend. Perhaps the team was overlooking Troy and already thinking about their upcoming SEC matchup with the Florida Gators. Or maybe the LSU Tigers aren’t very good.
There appears to be at least a small percentage of fans who believe that head coach Ed Orgeron is to blame.
The Tigers were beaten by Troy, 24-21, and handed their second loss of the season by a vastly inferior team. It’s no knock on Troy, which improved to 4-1, but it’s a game most people expected the Tigers to win.
Mounting frustration with coach Orgeron has led some students and fans to start a GoFundMe page dedicated to collecting funds for his dismissal. At the time of this post, it’s raised only $335 of it’s $12 million goal.
Something tells me they won’t be getting all the way there unless J.J. Watt gets involved.
Incredibly, seven different people have contributed. The largest contribution not from Chad McGee, who started the fundraiser, was for $55. The comments section is suprisngly devoid of the expected venom directed towards coach Orgeron that you would expect to find.
Instead, it’s mostly populated by two things: People urging others to donate to a more worthy cause, and people correcting each other’s grammar.
Coach Orgeron is in his first full year as head coach of the LSU Tigers after having replaced Les Miles last season on an interim basis. The Tigers are 3-2 with their brutal conference schedule around the corner.
It’s very possible LSU wins fewer than six games this season and Oregeron is fired after only one season.
