Ohio State is looking to come away with a statement victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday.
Easily the marquee matchup of the weekend, fans from across the country will be tuning in to watch this nationally televised Big Ten showdown
. Expect audible “ooh’s” and “ah’s” when they see the cleats that Ohio State will be wearing during the game.
The Buckeyes will be sporting some of the most uniquely designed cleats anywhere in the country against the Nittany Lions. The footwear comes from brand owned by honorary alumnus LeBron James.
A subsidiary of Nike, the shoe is called the “Soldier XI”, and uses velcro straps instead of laces.

Ohio State might want to wear these the rest of the season if they’re able to come away with the victory this weekend. They’re the nicest cleats they’ve sported all season, and if they happen to bring them luck against the second-ranked team in the country, they might stick with them.
LeBron James went straight to the NBA from high school (the last player allowed to do so), but has regularly supported Ohio State. He’s a fixture on their sideline when his NBA schedule allows him to attend the game, and he’s expressed interest in playing a down in a Buckeyes uniform in the past.
That might never happen, but all the Buckeyes players will be wearing his shoes during their biggest game of the season this afternoon.
