If you are thinking about buying a Sam Darnold Cleveland Browns jersey, you may want to hold off for a bit.
According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, the USC Trojans quarterback will consider passing on the 2018 NFL Draft and returning to school if the Cleveland Browns hold a top two pick.
Ouch. Sorry, Browns fans.
The Browns are 0-8 on the season, started and benched rookie quarterback Deshone Kizer multiple times, and whiffed at the NFL trade deadline on a deal that was supposed to land Cincinnati Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron.
Cleveland is one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the NFL, so it’s tough to blame Darnold for wanting no part of that.
Per @AlbertBreer, Sam Darnold will want to wait and see who has the top pick or two in the NFL Draft. If it's Browns, he could stay at USC.

Darnold could also benefit from another year in college, however.
Entering the season, Darnold was considered a Heisman front-runner and a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft. USC stumbled out of the gate and Darnold had some issues of his own, so the extra experience could allow him to continue maturing as a signal-caller before jumping to the NFL — where he apparently hopes he won’t be playing in The Mistake by the Lake.
