Saturday was a disastrous outing for the UGA football team.
Sitting with the No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playoff rankings, the Bulldogs were in the driver’s seat for the postseason. However, Georgia came up lame against the No. 10 Auburn Tigers and were blown out at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The Bulldogs continuously made crucial mistakes that allowed Auburn to run away with the game behind a strong outing from star running back Kerryon Johnson.
Auburn won the game, 40-17.
At his post-game press conference, UGA head coach Kirby Smart took full responsibility for his team’s performance on the road.

Despite the loss, Georgia isn’t completely out of the College Football Playoff picture.
Considering they will be in the SEC Championship Game, they will have an opportunity to knock off the Alabama Crimson Tide or potentially Auburn again.
It’s going to be an interesting end to the season for the Bulldogs, and tough to cope with the fact that they let their own destiny slip from their hands.
