Last week, New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. released his first lifestyle sneaker with Nike.
The sneaker, dubbed the the Special Field Air Force-1 Mid “OBJ,” will be available for purchase on Nov. 24. However, members of the LSU football team have received the first pairs.
On Thanksgiving, ahead of the Tigers’ regular season finale against Texas A&M, Beckham gifted the LSU team with their own pair of the custom sneakers.
The yellow sneakers not only pay homage to his time in Baton Rouge, but also to the sights of yellow cabs throughout New York City.

When Beckham Jr. left his home state of Louisiana for New York in 2014, one of the first things that struck him was the omnipresence of the yellow cab. Fittingly, his debut signature lifestyle shoe, the Special Field Air Force-1 Mid “OBJ,” assumes that familiar color — like the cars, immediately standing out in a crowd.

LSU is going to look sharp when they make the walk to to Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff between the No. 19 Tigers and Aggies is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
