Donald Trump Continues Attacking NFL Players For Expressing First Amendment Rights

Donald Trump just can’t give up his grudge against the NFL.
On Thanksgiving, New York Giants defender Olivier Vernon took a knee during the national anthem to protest racial inequality and injustice in the country.
And, like clockwork, the President of the United States fired up his Twitter fingers and used the opportunity to once again fire up his base by blasting the NFL, commissioner Roger Goodell and Vernon, who is the son of a retired police officer.
First, Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino Jr. delivered the first shot at Vernon being “not so thankful.”
Trump then quoted Scavino and added some insults of his own.

Vernon joined the NFL protests after Trump’s inflammatory comments earlier this season. Trump called any protesting player a “son of a b**ch” and said they should be fired. That motivated Vernon to join the cause.
It’s unfortunate that the president doesn’t understand why players continue to protest, but since he isn’t willing to listen and only cares about feeding into his angry base, he never will take the time to grasp the reality of the situation.
