The College Football Playoff picture was turned on its head this weekend, with No.1 Alabama and No. 2 Miami both suffering upset losses.
That has led to some opening in the top four spots and the folks at FiveThirtyEight have done the math to see how the surprising losses could impact the likelihood of different programs across the nation reaching the final four.
As things currently stand, Clemson, Oklahoma, Auburn and Wisconsin all appear poised to have the inside track at the playoff.
However, Alabama still has an outside shot despite not securing a spot in the SEC Championship, while the Georgia Bulldogs, who will be in Atlanta, and Ohio State also have an opportunity when they take the field next week.
The teams with the most likely chances to reach the College Football Playoff according to FiveThirtyEight can be seen below:
- Clemson – 76 percent
- Oklahoma – 67 percent
- Auburn – 52 percent
- Wisconsin – 48 percent
- Alabama – 47 percent
- Georgia – 42 percent
- Ohio State – 34 percent
- Miami – 22 percent
