Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield is dealing with an illness just days ahead of the biggest game of the season.
According to a report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the Heisman Trophy winner was forced to miss the team’s trip to Disneyland and a Rose Bowl media session on Friday because he was “not feeling well.”
While there are few details regarding Mayfield’s illness, there is no indication that he is in any jeopardy of missing the team’s meeting with No. 3 Georgia on New Year’s Day.
Mayfield has been practicing despite the illness.
Sooners tight end Mark Andrews assured Oklahoma fans that Mayfield will be “good to go.”
