A new set of college football rankings dropped on Monday, Aug. 13 as the new season approaches. For the first time ever, the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll was released after the AFCA began administration of the FCS for the first time. It had previously been run by the Southern Conference. The AFCA also administrates the Division II and Division III Top 25 polls.
Checking in at No. 1 ahead of the season is the reigning national champion North Dakota State Bisons.
Last year’s runner-up, James Madison, sits at No. 2, while South Dakota State, Sam Houston State, and Kennesaw State round out the top five.
