People often forget that the NFL is a business; a very lucrative business. We see players making millions of dollars from their contracts, but players also make money off of merchandise sales. Branding their name onto jersey’s, shirts, and other memorabilia is a great way for players to make money.

Khalil Mack comes in at number ten on the list. During the offseason, he was traded to the Chicago Bears from the Oakland Raiders. It seems as if Bears fans are getting the last laugh. Mack Transformed the Bears into having one of the most feared defenses in the league. Team Ranking states that the Bears held their opponents to 17 points per game last season which led the league. Mack also led the Bears to a playoff berth but lost to the Eagles in the wild-card round. However, the Bears defense led by Mack inspires hope for the future. Macks dominance translated well to Bears fans as he is number ten on this list and the only defensive player to make it.

9. Deshaun Watson – Houston Texans

The Houston Texans have a bright future at quarterback. In Watson second year of the league, he was named a pro bowler and also led his team to the playoffs. During the season he threw for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns. Along with this, he added 551 rushing yards along with five rushing touchdowns. It’s clear that Watson is a budding star in the league and is in great popularity with fans. It’s no surprise that he is number nine on the list.

This past season he led the NFL with 50 touchdowns and added onto that with 5,097 throwing yards which was good for second in the league. Not to mention this was just his second year in the league and his first season as the starting quarterback. Fans obsessed over Mahomes explosive play and this translated well to his merchandise sales. Mahomes should consistently make this list for many years to come.

6. Carson Wentz – Philidelphia Eagles

Even with a shaky season Wentz still sits at number six for merchandise sales. His 2017 MVP season is what truly started Wentz mania. Even with Nick Foles winning the Superbowl while Wentz was injured the Eagles still choose to go back to him in 2018. His 2018 stats were nothing special. He threw for 3,074 yards and 21 touchdowns before getting injured. However, this didn’t stop fans from buying his merchandise. If Wentz returns to his MVP form it will be interesting to watch him move up these rankings.
