After weight loss, Alabama LB Reuben Foster feels ‘like a Ferrari’

Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster is one of the best defensive players in the SEC and he will likely be a huge part of the Crimson Tide’s success in 2016. He cut some weight over the summer and he feels like that has only made him even more dangerous going forward.

Foster spoke with AL.com’s Michael Casagrande Tuesday evening and said he feels good after the weight loss. He dropped from 240 to 225 pounds, a big difference for a player that was voted as the hardest hitter on the team by his teammates.

“Yeah, like testing a new automobile,” he said when asked if he felt different. “I’m ready to drive a Ferrari.”

Last year, Foster was second on the team in tackles with 79, behind only Reggie Ragland’s 102. He is excited about getting to test himself this weekend against the USC Trojans’ pair of 900-yard rushers and their massive offensive line.

“Quickness and agility, downhill runners,” Foster said. “Small, but strong. Hard.”

It should be a big year for Foster as he moves towards making an impact in the SEC and into the NFL Draft next year.
