The Tennessee football program is taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Music City Bowl today in Nashville. Prior to the game, the Vols made an incredible gesture by honoring late Nebraska punter Sam Foltz with a custom jersey.
Foltz, who passed away in a car accident on July 23 alongside former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, has been honored by Nebraska opponents all season long.
The Cornhuskers unveiled the gift from the Vols on social media prior to kickoff.

That isn’t the only sign of respect from the Vols either.
Tennessee is also wearing special “SF27” helmet decals for the bowl game.

It’s a great gesture and shows the incredible respect the programs have for each other.
And Tennessee isn’t the only team making a great tribute on Friday. Nebraska previously announced they would be wearing a “Mountain Strong” helmet decal to honor victims of the Gatlinburg wildfire in Tennessee.
The Vols currently lead the No. 24 Cornhuskers, 7-0, early in the second quarter.
